As the first born in the "z Coyoacan FCI" kennel, the "B" litter was supposed to stay in our hands entirely. Due to his wild look one of the puppies especially tickled my fancy - the smallest and the less impressing male, Bursztyn. I got him as a present - for a good start. On the same year, which means in 1994, I’ve got my first Polish Kennel Club ID. The history repeats - only one of two of my Parents’ daughters went in for the cynology -I.
From the first days of "z Coyoacan FCI" kennel existence, I felt emotionally bound with it - I was fascinated by dogs and everything related to them. I eagerly participated in every kind of works which although not always pleasant, are inevitable in case of animal breeding.
I was fully engrossed – dogs started being my real passion and way of life. I helped supervising the kennel, taking care of dogs and assisting in their education and trainings. I soon became the sword hand of the breeder and trainer.
There came a time when I became the exclusive handler of the kennel. Since the dogs I used to handle undoubtedly belonged to top Siberians in Poland and created the breed history in our country, showing them always gave me a lot of pleasure and satisfaction. I identified myself with every victory, every champion award achieved (more than 20 in my Parents’ kennel) as well as with our every defeat.
In
winter, when the shows season was over, I moved to sleddog races.
Although mushing was not that much successful for us as the shows,
it gave me and my Father a lot of kick and pretty often high ranking
as well.
But
sometimes life is cruel…
On
January 1st of 1998, an accident that violently made us
going easy on took place. Since then we started treating mushing
with a pinch of salt- like a typical recreation.
The
passion for Siberians however hasn’t died.
From
the hindsight I realize how much the rhythm of my life depended on
dogs.
They
were such an important element of my life, that my most important
decisions have been undertaken on the strength of them - even my
studies profile. Writing an MA thesis about the social behaving of a
Siberian Huskies group compared to behaving of a wolf pack and
getting a master degree in Animal Breeding at the Agricultural
Academy in Warsaw was not a coincidence in the least.
